Unit Chambers are delighted to announce that leading family law silk Teertha Gupta QC has accepted an invitation to join Unit Chambers as a Door Tenant. Teertha remains in practice at 4PB, London.
One of the UK’s most established family law barristers, Teertha will be a key addition to the team and will bring over 30 years of experience and expertise in all aspects of family law. He was called to the Bar in 1990 (Inner Temple) and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2012 and a (Family) Deputy High Court Judge in 2016. Teertha also sits as a High Court Circuit Judge (a Recorder) in the Criminal and Civil courts. To date he has been involved in 10 full appeals in the UKSC/House of Lords.
His areas of expertise include complex domestic and international children cases such as relocation, cross-border parental abductions and acrimonious contact disputes. He is also the go to person for forced marriage and stranded spouse cases.
In 2008, he won the Chambers and Partners Family (Junior) Barrister of the Year and in 2011, Jordans Family Barrister of the Year. In 2018, Teertha won the Legal 500 Family Silk of the Year. He is ranked 1 by Chambers and Partners.
