Unit Chambers is delighted to announce that over the next few months, we will be welcoming three new pupils to the team.
Our three successful new pupils are Isabel Clarke, Emily Henshaw and Claudia Saxton all of whom have a wide range of experience and expertise across the family law sector.
With over 150 aspiring Barristers applying for this round of pupillage, Lisa Edmunds, CEO and Senior Consultant Barrister, commented that;
‘We were quite literally blown away with the overall standard of applications and the quality of young aspiring Barristers we interviewed was breathtaking. In this round we are delighted that Isabel , Emily and Claudia have accepted Pupillage and we look forward to taking on another “Next Gen” set of aspiring Barristers in our next round of Pupillage in 2024.’
Welcoming Isabel
Isabel Clarke will be joining the Unit Chambers team on a twelve-month pupillage. Isabel is a familiar and friendly face across the Liverpool law scene and is currently working as a Paralegal at CEL Solicitors in Liverpool. She will join Unit Chambers in May 2023.
Isabel graduated with a first class degree in Law LLB from Newcastle University and completed her Barrister Training Course (Distinction) at BPP University , Manchester. She was called to the Bar in November 2022 by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple. Isabel was awarded a number of academic awards during her undergraduate degree including the Stanley Dennison Scholarship for high academic achievement and the Routledge Prize for obtaining the best overall performance within the cohort.
Outside of work Isabel enjoys dance and spinning classes, long walks with her dog and reading. Isabel is also a keen dancer and won first place in the UDO World Street Dance Championships.
Welcoming Emily
Emily Henshaw will be joining the Unit Chambers team on a reduced pupillage . Emily is well known across the Liverpool and Wirral law scene and is currently working as a Child Protection Lawyer at Wirral Borough Council . She represents the authority in public and private family law proceedings including care, discharge of care, recovery, adoption and deprivation of liberty. Before that, she was a Family Law Advocate at BDH Solicitors and was in private practice for several years. She will join Unit Chambers in June 2023.
Emily was called to the Bar as a transferring legal professional in March 2023 by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple.
Outside of work Emily is a keen wild water swimmer and baker. She has set herself the challenge of hiking the 15 highest peaks in North Wales this year.
Welcoming Claudia
Claudia Saxton will be joining the Unit Chambers team on a twelve -month pupillage. Claudia graduated from the University of Cambridge with a 2:1 BA (Hons) in Law.. She is currently completing her Bar Training Course (BTC Master’s) at BPP Law School ,Manchester .and will be called to the Bar in July by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple. She will join Unit Chambers in October 2023.
Outside of work Claudia has just completed the Manchester Marathon and enjoys SoulCycle, a spin class with music.
