Unit Chambers are delighted to announce that Eve Horren has joined the team as a Consultant Barrister. One of the brightest young barristers on the Northern Circuit she will be a key addition to the Unit team and will bring a wide range of experience and expertise in all aspects of Family Law. Eve’s practice is largely split between all aspects of Private Children Law and Financial Remedies work. She has expertise in dealing with Schedule 1 claims (financial provision for children of unmarried couples) and TOLATA matters.

Eve also has a particular interest in working with modern families and has represented a number of LGBTQIA+ clients in proceedings. She hopes to continue to develop her practice to include advising on surrogacy and fertility matters.

Before coming to the Bar, Eve was a Legal Officer for the largest union and professional body for nurses – the Royal College of Nursing. She also worked as an in-house Presenting Officer regularly appearing before disciplinary tribunals on behalf of the regulator across a wide range of contested proceedings.

Eve was called to the Bar in 2015 by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple having graduated with a LLB in Law via the University of Liverpool. She subsequently undertook her Bar Professional Training Course at the University of Law.

Lisa Edmunds, CEO and Senior Consultant Barrister of Unit Chambers said, “The Unit Chambers Board of Directors are delighted to have acquired the services of an outstanding new Consultant Barrister and we look forward to Eve joining us. We are an ambitious new breed of Chambers and Eve’s reputation as a fearless and dynamic advocate who really does fight for her clients every step of the way will ensure that Unit Chambers will go from strength to strength.”

Eve Horren said, “I am delighted to be taking up the offer of being a Consultant Barrister at Unit Chambers. Coming from a non-traditional route to the Bar I am a big believer in disrupting the status quo in the legal sector. The prospect of helping shape the future of one of the new breeds of Chambers is one I am really energised by and looking forward to. There is incredible potential to be fulfilled across the North in all areas of Family Law and I look forward to growing the Manchester base.  I can’t wait to work with Lisa and everyone at Unit in playing my part to ensure that happens.”

Welcome to the family Eve!
