Lisa Edmunds, CEO of Unit Chambers and Senior Consultant Barrister said, “The Unit Chambers board of directors are delighted to have acquired the services of one of the best young family law talents in the Northwest and we look forward to Callum joining us. We are an ambitious new breed of Chambers and Callum is the perfect fit to help us grow our ever-expanding portfolio in both Liverpool and the Northwest”

Callum Hurley said, “I am delighted to be joining Unit Chambers and it’s nice to be coming back to my spiritual home in Liverpool. At the same time, I would also like to thank all the team at Cobden House for their incredible support and understanding as I transition back across the M62 but continue to frequent the Manchester Civil Justice Centre. I can’t wait to get started and reconnect with lots of colleagues in the family court at Vernon Street.”

During his paralegal experience, Callum developed valuable key skills particularly in niche areas of legal research and drafting with a focus on care proceedings and is known for his meticulous attention to detail. He also has a natural ability to build a rapport with both professional and lay clients alike. Callum has extensive experience of complicated family matters with a focus on private and public law matters whilst developing a keen interest in finance work. He regularly undertakes instruction in cases involving neglect, substance misuse, parental alienation, domestic abuse and child sexual/criminal exploitation.

Callum graduated with a Class 1 Law degree LLB (Hons) from the University of Liverpool and completed his BPC LLM from the University of Law in Manchester where he received a Distinction for his dissertation focusing on issues in defining parenthood in family law. He has also recently completed his training as a qualified mediator.

Outside of work, Callum enjoys travelling and cooking – especially tapas dishes. He is a self-taught pianist and enjoys going to the gym regularly.
